Stop Waiting–Take Action!
A well-known athletic company’s mantra tells us, “Just do it.” How is there magic in the words “just do it?” Do what? Not everyone is athletic, and certainly not everyone is so talented as to go pro or participate in the Olympics. Look at the slogan in a general sense.
The real meaning of the message is simple: “Take action.” Anything you have ever desired is available to you if you will it.
In “Hard Time Losin’ Man” by Jim Croce, the song goes, ” ‘Cause I keep a-waitin’ for my ship to come in, and all that ever comes is the tide.” That sounds like a victim’s lament, as in, “Oh poor me, here I am ready and excited, waiting for my ship to come in, and I get dumped on by the sorry tide. Bummer. How unfair.” As long as the singer waits without taking any action, seaweed and plenty of sand are all he’ll end up with.
So you see, “action” is the opposite of “waiting.” Yet it’s so easy to do nothing – waiting passively. Action requires energy, enthusiasm, movement, and objectives, while waiting requires not even a thought.
Whether your desire is a good relationship, wealth, a healthy body, or a promotion, you are the only one who declare “the waiting” officially over, and take the first step to making that desire a reality. Stop waiting–take action! Just do it, whatever “it” is!
